Veronica's Weekly Walking Scavenger Hunt - Sun

Welcome Back to Veronica’s Weekly Walking Scavenger Hunt!

This week we are asking you to draw a SUN and put it in a window at the front of your house.

Then later in the week you can go out and walk around your neighborhood looking for as many SUNS as you can find!

Remember to keep a count of how many SUNS you see so you can let us know.

Why did we choose SUNS? It looks like we will see some rain this week and Veronica wanted to bring some SUN to you!

Did you know…

The Sun is 4.6 billion years old.

The Sun rotates in the opposite direction to Earth with the Sun rotating from west to east instead of east to west like Earth.

It takes eight minutes for light reach Earth from the Sun. The average distance from the Sun to the Earth is about 150 million km. Light travels at 300,000 km per second so dividing one by the other gives you 500 seconds – eight minutes and twenty seconds.
